Nusa
Dua Area
Nusa Dua which means "two islands"
in Bahasa Indonesia, is known internationally
as the premier resort area of Bali. Situated
on the Southern Peninsula of the island, it
seems a world away from the hustle & bustle
but is only 20 minutes drive from the airport,
Kuta beach, shops and nightlife.
Just
to the North of Nusa Dua is Tanjung Benoa, a
quiet resort area forming Bali's Benoa Harbor.
Accommodation here offers an informal alternative.

| Sanur
Area
Sanur has the potential to satisfy
everyone. A broad range of accommodation is represented
here from intimate boutique hotels to sprawling
International resorts. But venture beyond the
confines of your hotel and you'll discover a busy
village, friendly markets, vibrant bars and cosmopolitan
restaurants. Essentially a sleepy fishing village,
Sanur is great for evening walks browsing through
the many shops and markets without the frantic
activity of Kuta or Legian.
The
beach is sheltered from the surf by a coral reef
creating a lazy lagoon, perfect for children and
families. For a small negotiated fee you can even
sail in a traditional prahu fishing boat along
the fringes of the langoon and take in the spectacular
sunset.
The
salvaged beach, with its calm waters, provides
a pleasant playground for kids. Sanur is also
a good place to try out sea-based activities like
snorkelling, wind-surfing, or canoeing.
Although its coastline is protected from the waves
by reefs, Sanur has a few good surfing spots.
If you want to embark to the wilder islands of
Nusa Penida and Lembongan, you'll find boats ready
to take you in front of the Sanur Beach Hotel.
Tired of the ocean? Opt for mangrove trekking
and bird-watching, or discover rare orchids
and other unusual tropical flowers at the Bali
orchid garden. Besides bland international
hotels, Sanur has a good choice of accommodations,
especially along the peaceful Jl. Danau Tamblingan. |
